Garden Week 2006- Melville Nurseries

When Bob Melville of Melville Nurseries commenced a major undertaking to construct a large display at Garden week he chose GFE as his collaborator. The garden incorporated a romantic symmetrical rose garden with limestone walls and piers with cast iron fencing. A cycad in a raised central garden bed underplanted with Playgirl' roses drew visitors further in to view the copper water wall and through to the lawn area bordered with standard roses. A seat provided a place to stop and smell the roses while an urn planted with colourful succulents and a rare Wollemi Pine provided inspirational ideas for the public. A practical retail area and intricate brick paving with a detailed rose insert completed the display. The garden was awarded the Best Overall Display' and a Gold Medal in the display garden category.
