Garden Week - Central Display Kings Park 2000

Colin Barlow of GFE was again commissioned by the Nursery Industry Association of WA to design a central display for Garden Week in the now Western Power Parklands area of Kings Park. While the lake and island site presented logistical challenges, Colin Barlow overcame these with carefully orchestrated project management. Angled potted colour and lawn on the lake island spelt out the name and year with rowing boats gently floating on the lake filled with vibrant potted colour. Majestic water fountains added further movement and interest to the lake. An environmentally safe blue dye was used to give the lake colour, which still has people talking to this day. GFE worked within tight timelines and environmental constraints to deliver another inspiring display for the public.
